TRIMMING CHART

My husband picked a copy of a drawing up from a goat friend....can't remember who.....and I have converted the various dimensions to this photo.  The fractions are the size of the blade that is used.  When it says "drag" clippers.....it means reverse (turn the clippers upside down and drag the strokes towards you.)    There are many ways of clipping a goat.  I have not practiced this method....but I am told it was originally from a very well known fitter.   We need to practice on those goats we are not taking to the shows until we get our own technique.  When I am trimming, I always keep the standard pictured in my mind....and adapt what I am doing to the actual goat with the standard in mind.  For example....if the standard says level topline.....and you have a slight dip.....you might want to leave the hairs longer in the lowest point of the dip to level out the line when you stand back and view the topline.

If you have a chart or diagram of how you clip.....and would like to share.....I would like to post it here also!
